Chris also turns to ancient harvest laws in Leviticus 19 and Deuteronomy 24, where God commanded Israel not to harvest to the edges of their fields. This required “inefficiency” left margin for the vulnerable: the widow, the orphan, and the immigrant. Connecting this to Pope Leo XIV’s critique of contemporary economics, Chris challenges the notion that businesses should maximize profits at all costs and figure out how to benefit society later. True justice must shape every decision, including how we build and deploy new technology.
